COMMUNITY DAY PUBLIC SCHEDULE

~ Ninth Cabinet Community Day Session~

Peninsula Cabinet Community Day

~ Governor Timothy M. Kaine, his Cabinet and members of his Senior Staff will conduct their ninth Cabinet Community Day session on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Top administration officials will spend the day on the Virginia Peninsula.

Fort Monroe Briefing. Governor Kaine, members of his Cabinet and stakeholders will receive a briefing on the status of the Fort Monroe Reuse Plan. The plan has been developed by the Fort Monroe Federal Area Development Authority and will guide the Commonwealth’s redevelopment of the facility when it comes under state control in 2011. Following the briefing, the cabinet will tour the facility by foot and by bus. Open to the media and public.

**Please note- Fort Monroe is an active military base. The public and media are allowed on base with a day pass. To receive a day pass, you must present a photo identification and vehicle registration. Media must be escorted to the hotel and should arrive at the gate no later than 8:45 am to meet their escort.
